Count on Calcium
by AndiatBettyCrocker 1/28/2011 12:24:00 PM

Do you get enough calcium in your diet to help your body build strong bones and teeth? To find out how much calcium you need in your diet, click on: Count on Calcium. I’m a big fan of dairy foods and that makes it easy for me to get enough calcium. For example, one serving of my favorite ...

Granola and Yogurt
by jillbcooks 4/8/2010 9:33:00 PM

I have been on a yogurt kick lately.  Have you tried Greek yogurt?  A friend who is a dietician recommended it to me as a way to get more dairy and protein in my diet.  I decided that I wanted to add some texture to the yogurt so I made granola this week.  I like to make granola every now and again, but I am lazy, so I make it on the stovetop.  I start with oats in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.  I let the oats toast a bit, then I poured them out onto a plate.  I toasted some almonds, too—just put them in the pan and let them hang out for about seven minutes.  I removed the almonds from the pan and put the skillet back over a medium hea...

by CheriAtBettyCrocker 5/11/2009 10:38:00 AM

My life has been so crazy lately that I haven't been able to blog for about a month.  It's year-end at General Mills and we are eveloping many new products, recipes and photos, even as we speak.  No matter who we are or what kind of lifestyle we live, we all have to deal with innevitable stress at times, it's in fact a normal part of life.  The key to dealing with stress is to manage it. As I thought about my coping skills and how I could balance all the things I needed to do, I remembered the wonderful tips in the Betty Crocker Cookbook for Women:...

The Betty Crocker Kitchens host the Yoplait team
by CheriAtBettyCrocker 1/12/2009 3:28:00 PM

I'm sure people wonder what really goes on in the Betty Crocker Kitchens.  Well, it varies from day to day.  Today the Yoplait marketing team prepared recipes developed in the Betty Crocker Kitchens using Yoplait large-size yogurt.  (32 ounces of yogurt). It was great learning all the foods that can be made with plain, vanilla, peach and strawberry yogurt--everything from appetizers, (Ginger Caramel and Yogurt Dip with Apples) to main dishes (Crescent Samosas), to side dishes, (Cajun Sweet Potato Fries with Yogurt Dipping Sauce), breads (Cranberry-Orange Scones) and desserts. (think Chocolate Souffle' Cakes).  Even better was tasting and sharing all ...
