Homemade Halloween

I once heard that time and money are interchangeable resources that have a proportional relationship. Basically, you can solve a problem with a little time and a lot of money, or you can solve a problem with a little money and a lot of time.  I tend to try the latter before the former, since I think part of the pleasure of things is the making of them.  When it comes to preparations for Halloween, I would much rather make costumes and treats than buy them pre-made. The Challenge: $25 and Betty Crocker Coupons

When I was younger, my mom tasked me with coupon maintenance. She would circle the coupons in the Sunday paper. I would cut them out, file them away in her coupon organizer and keep it updated. Though this was one of my favorite weekly chores, I didn’t really embrace it again until I was married. Yet, I gave up on this weekly savings ritual because we stopped receiving the Sunday paper (which I now realize was ridiculous). When I was challenged to see what meals I could make with Betty Crocker coupons and just $25, I was excited to fall in love with coupon clipping again.
