The season for those deliciously mild onions, goes from mid-June to early September. They are sold under the names of Vidalia Onions (grown in Georgia), Walla Walla Onions (grown in the area of the Walla Walla Valley of southeast Washington and northeastern Oregon) and Maui Onions (grown on the Hawaiian island of Maui). It's burger season! Of course burgers are never really out of season but they seem to taste better when they are grilled on a backyard grill then when they cooked in a skillet. At least I think so.
