In a recent email, my friend Hilary suggested that whenever we visited Bayfield, Wisconsin, we should buy some “wine bread “ at the Candy Shoppe. She suggested placing an order for it, the day before. Here is my phone conversation with the shop owner when I called to place an oder for the bread:

A favorite tradition that Jack and I have is celebrating our wedding anniversary at B&Bs and country inns in Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. We usually go on the weekend closest to Valentine’s Day, because we were married on February 14th.
