America’s Biggest Test Kitchen?

This morning, I had the pleasure of giving Jillian Michaels (personal trainer for the popular TV show, The Biggest Loser) a tour of the Betty Crocker Kitchens. We have more than 7,000 square feet of kitchen space with 19 fully equipped individual kitchens designed for over 50,000 recipes tests each year. Adjacent to the kitchens is America’s “biggest” corporate cookbook library, complete with 1,260 feet of high-density rolling book shelves for easy access. Last week, I came down with a bad cold--the kind that really slows you down. In fact, I stayed home from work one day since I didn't have enough energy to get dressed, much less drive to work. As I lay in bed, (I wasn't hungry at all, mind you) I thought about food because that's what I do. I would have loved to have had someone drop off a steaming pot of chicken noodle soup at my front door but I knew that wasn't going to happen.
