Cheese Madeleines with Chives
Bastille Day is a French national holiday which is celebrated on July 14th every year, similar to the July 4th celebration in the United States. It is the commemoration of the storming of the Paris Bastille in 1789, a citizens’ victory at the outset of the French Revolution.

We had a busy weekend. While our daughter-in-law, Katie was opening her new clinic, our grandsons Blake (3 ½ years old) and Finn (7 months old) stayed at our house during the day on Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday night, I wanted to have dinner ready for Jason and Katie after their long, hard weekend of moving. I made Sausage and Chicken Cassoulet (a simple one-dish meal) with wedges of whole grain bread and of course, olives on the side....
