Surprise!! It’s Me – Kristen again!

Andi is relaxing this week at the cabin and I’m…
…well, I’m very envious!! But its ok because I get to hang out with you!
Anyway, to celebrate Memorial Day and the gorgeous Minnesota summer weather Andi made burgers… I made hot dogs! Not just any hot dogs but Seattle Style hot dogs!
Last week at one of our taste panels, Diane (our magazine editor) mentioned a new craze that her daughter who lives in Seattle was raving about; Seattle Style Hot Dogs! Serious Eats claims that they are served at food carts and trucks all over the city.
So, if its food and people are raving about it, I have to try it! This weekend I grilled up some hot dogs, brats and a bunch of vegetables… absolutely delicious!

I think the Seattleites are on to something here! Just smear cream cheese onto a grilled hot dog or brat bun then top it with your hot dog (or brat), sauerkraut, onions, pickle relish, ketchup and mustard… and whatever else you can fit!

I was pleasantly surprised, the cream cheese was great! It had a nice balancing flavor to offset the other toppings. But really how could it be bad? It’s cream cheese!
What are your fun additions to make the traditional hot dog your own? What are you known for putting on your hotdogs?
