In the Kitchen with Blake: Raspberry-Banana Yogurt Smoothies
by AndiatBettyCrocker  4/28/2009 9:00:00 AM

Blake and I were in the kitchen together again over the weekend. Very early on Sunday morning, we whirled up a batch of Raspberry-Banana Yogurt Smoothies. Papa Jack was our photographer.

We started by putting some fresh raspberries into the blender container.

Then Blake added some soymilk.

Next came the vanilla yogurt.

Banana slices went in next, one by one.

Finally, Blake pushed the button to blend all of the ingredients.

OOPS! Blake didn't know that we can't run the blender when I'm scraping down the sides of it.

After we got the kitchen cleaned up, Blake liked his healthy breakfast drink!

Wow! I LOVE IT!! You truly show the way to have fun with kids! It reminds me of the time my daughter told me 3-year old Joshua "liked" to crack the eggs for breakfast. I handed him and egg, he smashed it on the table and I cleaned up the mess. When I looked back at my daughter she just said, "I said he likes to crack the eggs - I didn't say he was GOOD at it!". I still laugh at the thought. It's amazing how messes are much funnier with my grandchildren than they were with my own children at the same age - there's much to be said for becoming wiser as you age! You and Blake and Papa will enjoy those pics for years and years.

Fruit smoothies are great. Sometimes, when we aren't very hungry because we had a larger previous meal, we just make fruit smoothies. The Raspberry/Bananna mixture sounds like a great combination. I'm going to have to try that!
