You know those people that everyone loves at a dinner party, the people with the
best stories and answers to everyone’s questions? That’s Catherine! You might know
her as CateC_BettyCrocker_MOD. She turned her ability to keep conversations fun
and interesting into a job as a Betty Crocker message board moderator.
Love, Passion and an Open Mind
Catherine’s love of food began at a very young age. Ever since she can remember,
she’s looked forward to mealtime with eager anticipation. One time, that excitement
got the best of her and she fell asleep in her pasta (there are pictures to prove
it).
As a teenager her love of food continued to grow. While babysitting she found that
kids loved her animal sandwiches, so she continually challenged herself to come
up with new creations.
A month before leaving for college, Catherine’s love of food grew into a passion
for making homemade meals – on a budget of course. And while studying in Europe
and Asia she kept and open mind that allowed her to expand her palate to all kinds
of new things.
Always Up For A Challenge
Catherine loves them, especially if they’re related to food. Last year she challenged
herself to be a vegetarian for a month, but after the month was up she felt like
she had barely scratched the surface of that lifestyle. As a result, she lived meat
free for an entire year.
Another challenge Catherine takes on is walking to the grocery store. It might not
seem difficult, but when forced to carry everything home it’s a mental and physical
workout that makes her think twice about what she buys.
One Challenge Leads To Another
That brings us here, to Catherine’s newest, and most difficult challenge: feeding
herself and her husband on a budget. As a newlywed it’s something she’s new to,
but excited to tackle. With her love of food, passion for cooking and open mind,
good (and budget-friendly) things are sure to come!
