There are over 30 types of this herb, peppermint and spearmint being the most available. Peppermint has a stronger, peppery flavor, bright green leaves and purple stems. Spearmint leaves are grayish green or blue and are more mild and fragrant.

How to Buy

Pick leaves with an even color that aren't wilting.

How to Store

Place mint with stems down in a glass of water with a plastic bag over the leaves. Refrigerate up to a week, changing the water every 2 days.
