Comments: Pretty good. I had no problems with the cookies crumbling while coating them. However, it is definitely sort of messy, but nothing too bad. They are definitely good, but nothing spectacular. Worth a try. |

Comments: Terrible! Very messy to make -some of them crumbled no matter how careful I was- and they tasted blah!
I make approx 20 -30 different cookies every Christmas and this will not be on my list of repeats! Was not worth the effort or the mess. Do not know how they won. Sorry! |

Comments: Followed the instructions exactly. Prepared them after watching the video. I do not see why this cookie won a contest. Nothing great about it. There is no wow factor. No, yum.... I want another one, and I am a huge lover of peanut butter and chocolate. I made them for a large family gathering and no one cared for seconds. Yes, family said they tasted okay, but that it tasted blah. Most said that the chocolate coating seemed to take away from the inner cookie part. I won't ever make them again. It is a somewhat time consuming cookie to make, but fairly easy if you have patience. It just didn't do it for my family. |

Comments: I was VERY disappointed in these cookies. They were just OK. I Did watch the video. They were way too messy for my taste. My granddaughters didn't even want to help after they watched me and this was OUR project this morning. They did like licking the bowls. I would never make these again. |

Comments: I made these for a family reunion and they were not that big of a hit. They do taste good, just not the best cookie. It was also hard to cover in the chocolate mixture. (I did not watch the video people are referring to) |

Comments: These cookies are absolutely delicious. Watch the video on "how to make" and they come out perfect, there was no mess at all. I made them from a small cookie scooper, waited til they cooled, put about 8 in a bowl, mixed with choc mixture (had no problem with the mixture), used a little at a time, then coated in a baggie. Will definitely make them again. |

Comments: Great recipe and delicious! Made them for a gathering and they went fast! Make the cookies small and let them cool completely. I had no problem with the frosting. It was very pourable and coated the cookies well. Just do a few cookies at a time, don't over handle them, and you'll be fine! |

Comments: My grandson and I just finished making these wonderful cookies. I watched the video first and then read the reviews written by others. I decided to follow the recipe instructions with these exceptions: it took more powdered sugar; probably 2 cups total. Also, I only coated 6 cookies at a time with the chocolate mixture, then put them in the powdered sugar and coated them well. I reheated the chocolated mixture twice during the whole process just to make it more pourable. My grandson has decided these cookies are his favorite. |

Comments: The cookies taste great but are very messy to make. I bake cookies all the time. The chocolate is where I had the problem. I finally just hand frosted them and coated with the powdered sugar. I will make again. My grandkids loved them. Its not as easy as the video says it would be. |

Comments: The how-to video is pretty misleading, in that the chocolate coating is not smooth and pourable when you follow the recipe. The chocolate coating is really hot in the beginning and though it is more pourable, this softens the cookies and breaks everything apart. On the other hand, you can wait for the chocolate mixture to cool but then it stiffens and you can't stir it anymore.
So if you have a good amount of time you can make this recipe but I wouldn't exactly call it fast and easy.
I also frosted each cookie by hand and then tossed it in the plastic bag. The cookies came out great, and also tastes great. To prevent crunchy cookies I undercooked the cookie a bit. I would most definitely make this again if I have a few hours to waste like I did tonight. |

Comments: These cookies were delicious!! They were very messy to make though....my first batch I followed the directions, and pouring the hot chocolate mixture over the cookies made the cookies break apart. So my second batch, I frosted both sides of the cookie with the chocolate, and then rolled them in the powdered suger...this method worked much better. I will definitely make these again! |

Comments: I agree with the other posters...it was easier just to hand frost them. Something in this recipe causes the chocolate to seize, it's not as pourable as the video makes it appear. I had to add more peanut butter to make it smoother. Next time I will use the ratio in the original "puppy chow" recipe, which is 1/4 c more peanut butter...I think it balances it better and makes the chocolate smoother.
Also will use my own peanut butter cookie recipe..these were a bit too crisp for me. I think the center should be chewy. |
