I made them for our 4th of July picnic at the cabin. I was unable to find the stars before we left town for the cabin up north, so I just spread the brownies with white frosting & sprinkled rows of red & blue sprinkles diagonally across the brownies & they looked kind of neat. Not as thick as the picture, either, because I also used a 9x13 pan, but still kind of cute for a 4th of July holiday treat. Thanks for the tip on where to find the stars.. now that I am home again I will go look for them at a craft store.

I made this for our 4th of July BBQ,but instead of the vanilla frosting, which I didn't have...I used Bettey Crocker Cream Cheese frosting. I only put the frosting in the microwave for about 10 seconds to be able to drizzle it over the brownies. Mmmmmm! It tasted great and there were no leftovers. I was able to find the star candies at Party City in their cake decorating aisle. Only thing is,there were no white stars in the container, only red, blue, green and yellow stars. It still turned out great with just the red and blue stars. Very tasty

Everyone really liked the Brownies, but I was a little disappointed that they did not come out like the picture, Big! Next time I will use a 8x8 pan even though I will not get as much. I also added nut's. Still Very Good! I totally Recommend.

Hard to call this a 'recipe'. More of an idea to combine boxed mix with canned frosting and sprinkles. Could adapt to any holiday by changing frosting colors and sprinkles.

They were good, but not as high as the picture for the brownies. Maybe they used an 8 x 8 pan. I did the 11 x 13 and not as tall.

These look very yummy, & I think they will rate a 5 if I can find the star-shaped sprinkles to put on top. So far I have not been able to find them in any local grocery stores. Can anyone tell me what grocery chain store they have bought them at? I am very anxious to try this holiday recipe.. I am sure it will be a big hit!
