a very good cake! I made it with out the frosting, it would have been way too sweet! This is the perfect cake for a cold wintery day!

This is in reply to Sydneymine.Perhaps yours didnt turn out because you did not follow the recipe. You did not use the ingredients called for and blamed the recipe for not turning out when you made the alterations. It will only turn out if you use what it tells you and prepare it as it tells you.You cannot put pepper on a steak that calls for salt and expect it to taste like anything but pepper.

Very, very good and super easy. My family loved it, even the picky 2 year old and the even pickier teenager loved it. I plan on making this again for Thanksgiving. Thanks for the recipe Betty Crocker :)

What a fabulous cake! I made it for a birthday celebration and it was a huge hit. I think everyone in attendance had 2 pieces! The topping was a delicious addition with a little caramel sauce drizzled over. Yummy!!

Just returned from the apple orchard in Northern Georgia, so I used fresh apples in this cake. It smelled so good throughout the house while it was baking, and it tastes great! This one is a winner in ease of preparation, smell, and taste.

This was so easy to prepare! It smelled divine when it was int he oven, so I knew if it smelled that good it would taste good, as well. We weren't disappointed. I didn't make the topping. It doesn't need it, but served it with a dab of whipped cream. It was perfect! Next time I will use the same recipe and try blueberries instead of apples. Perhaps peach with be in the future, too. This is a definite keeper!

Made this cake last week for a church supper and it was a huge hit. I used canned apple slices cause didn't have good cooking apples and it did great. After reading reviews I also left off frosting and topping; didn't miss it. Also added extra spice. To the lady who threw hers out: You missed a real treat!! Mine didn't look like the pic either but it was GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

This is so good and so worth the little extra effort! I would double the caramel recipe for next time and use it to drizzle over the top rather than store bought caramel sauce...I have even posted this on Facebook it was so awesome!

Made this over the weekend. Very very good! Didn't have any vanilla frosting so I used Cream cheese, but it turned out just fine. Even my picky husband enjoyed this! thanks Betty Crocker!

I was looking for a cake for my craft group get-together when I received the e-mail with this recipe, so I decided to try it. It was a HUGE hit! Luckily it was fun and easy to make because I had to make another one for my family! It is a PERFECT Fall dessert and the house smells WONDERFUL while it's baking! GREAT job Betty Crocker!! I'll share this recipe often!

I LOVED this cake!!! I couldn't stay out of it either. I think I'm going to have to give most of it away - otherwise I will need my own zip code!! I didn't use any cool whip, frosting or caramel sauce. I just flipped the cake and served it warm. YUM!!!

Thought this recipe was good, family thought it was even better without the whipped cream on top.Baked in a bundt pan. My family added Pumpkin ice cream and a drizzle of caramel on top. Can't go wrong either way. Moist and tasty.

As a pineapple upsidedown cake lover, plus and apple fan, this recipe was a Winner. I lined my pan with the Release foil and it came out perfect. I also added cinnamon to my apple slices, as well as a 1/4tsp of cinn in the cake mix. I didn't use the iceing, nor extra caramel, for topping, as IMO, it's not needed. The cake was a hit with everyone, and the recipe is a keeper.

This was extremely easy to make. My kids, who are super picky, loved it. I'll have to say it was just o.k., though...more or less just "take it or leave it." I prefer pineapple upside down cake over this one. Thanks for an easy recipe, though, and I may make again.

Try this with a box of Spice cake mix and eliminate the apple pie spice...YUM! This dessert would be just fine with just whipped topping and caramel if frosting isn't added.

I found a version of this recipe titled "caramel apple treat" on the side of my box of dark chocolate cake. I substituted dark chocolate cake mix for the yellow cake, left out the apple pie spice and substituted evaporated milk for the whipping cream. The results were amazing! My friends were liking their bowls and asking for more.
