Comments: Hubby liked this soup so much that he ate several bowls! A word to the wise: don't use turkey bacon. It didn't give the soup much flavor. The next time I make this, I plan on using real bacon or ham, increasing the amount of black pepper, adding in some green peas, and thinning the whole thing down with milk. |

Comments: I'm a big fan of mashed potatoes and corn. When I saw this I had to try it. It turned out really good. I had to add a bit more salt to my bowl but that is minor! The second day we had a bit more, not as good, got heavy and thick over night. It sure will fill you up, definitely recommend!!! |

Comments: I made this recipe for one of my supper club groups and it was a hit. My children got the leftovers and they wished there had been more leftover! It was very thick, but I just added some 2% milk (about 2/3 cup) before serving and it was fine. I cooked it in my 2 quart slow cooker for 2 hours on high. It was very easy. And, I had my doubts about using those frozen potatoes - I think "real" ones would be better - but it was quick and easy this way! |

Comments: This recipe definitely fed a crowd. I used real potatoes (4-5 medium size white) in place of hash browns, which worked fine. Only suggestion is to let it cook a little longer to soften potatoes. I will make again; it was a hit with family and friends! |

Comments: The flavor was great, but it was quite mushy. Wish I would have read the reviews before attempting this - I would have tried frying the potatoes first. Don't think I'll make it again, as nobody was very enthusiastic about it, and the leftovers just sat in the fridge. |

Comments: FANTASTIC!! I've been looking for a good corn chowder recipe forever and this one didn't let me down. My husband loved it! These reviews helped and so like others, I used about 6 red potatoes. I had been baking for the holidays and only had about 1 1/2 cans of evaporated milk. I made up the difference with some heavy cream I had left over and it was so creamy and good. A definite keeper for my family. |

Comments: VERY good! Quite filling and perfect for a cold weather meal. We added a little shredded cheddar on top. Homemade bread was the perfect addition. |

Comments: This was a great corn chowder recipe. I browned the bacon before adding it to the chowder. I also had to use two cans of evaporated milk because it was too thick. I put a tablespoon of bacon fat into the mixture for flavor. The chowder was very filling and satisfying. I will definitely make this again. |

Comments: After tweaking the recipe, it came out DELICIOUS!!!!! Fry 1/2 a package of frozen (28 oz)hashbrown potatoes with diced onions and peppers AND 1/2 package of just plain hashbrown potatoes together in extra virgin olive oil until golden brown. (The peppers can be over whelming in taste if you use the entire package.) Add additional diced onions if you like. Also, I added sliced turkey smoked sausage to the hashbrowns. Slice thick bacon into one inch slices. I used the entire package. Fry bacon in a separate skillet, drain well. I used 16 oz bag of frozen whole kernel corn as well as one can of cream-style corn. Two cans of 2% evaporated milk and one can of low sodium chicken broth. Without the chicken broth, it's REAL thick. I added 1/2 teaspon Worcestershire sauce, some pepper and NO salt. The bacon and turkey smoked sausage has enough salt to season. Mix all ingredients. Bon appetite! |

Comments: I make a variation of this however: Whether using fresh or frozen potatoes,I always fry with diced bacon & onions until golden brown. This seems to infuse flavors & potatoes stay firm. Then mix all ingredients..cook..enjoy |

Comments: I really liked this recipe. I added cut up six peeled, red potatoes instead of hash browns, half of an onion, 1/4 cup chicken broth, and a can of green chili (I'm in New Mexico and we put green chili in everything!) |

Comments: I have made this recipe many times, and it is DELICIOUS!!!!! However, I did make a few adjustments. I use red potatoes instead of hash browns, cut in about 1" pieces. I use two cans of evaporated milk, instead of one. I use 10 slices of precooked bacon - I browned the bacon to make it crisp. It only took about 3 hours on high in the slow cooker. |

Comments: This soup just turned to mush. I set it prior to leaving for work and 6 hours later - yuck... I was very disappointed considering how much was spent purcahsing all the ingrediants. I was hoping to be able to freeze the excess but we ended up just throwing it out. |

Comments: To modify my review...I did not use a slow cooker. I maded the chowder on the stove and used fresh diced potatoes. It did take a little watching but the chowder was ready in less than a hour. |
