My family loved it!!! I added cinnamon buttons to the apples for added flavor. They melted over the apples and taste just like candy apples!!!

I have been using this pie crust recipe since I was in my teens and I am now 70 and still use it because it is the best! I prefer to use Wealthy apples from my own tree and freeze quarts of apple in my freezer, thaw them in the microwave and place them in the pie shell. I then scatter the rest of the ingredients over the top, dot with butter and place the top crust on the pie. I then sprinkle milk on the top of the crust and sprinkle with sugar. There is no better apple pie!!

This was my first apply pie and it was amazing! Peeling of the apples and making the crust was time consuming, but I was searching for a good recipe that would start from scratch. I will continue to make this again and again. When going through the steps, when it said make into small rounds, I flattened it with a rolling pin to make the shells. I suppose I wasn't supposed to do that until after it had been refrigerated. I'm glad I did though. When I took the dough out it just seemed to fall apart into a million pieces if you weren't careful. My crust was still incredibly flaky.

This was my first apple pie that I have ever made and it was absolutely delicious. The directions were easy to follow and although my crust did not look like the picture, I could not believe how it tasted. Everyone in my family enjoyed this recipe. I will make it in the future for sure. I made this recipe sugar free and you could not tell at all. Thanks Betty Crocker.

I have used this receipe for years. No one in our family or extended family will eat any other apple pie but mine. It is nice to know that I have one receipe that is mine! (and of course BC's)I modified the ingredients slightly making it more calorific. I increased cinnamon to 1 1/2 tbs, the nutmeg to 1 tsp, and the butter to 1/2 stick. I do cheat occasionly and use the BC ready pie crust with very little difference. At least no one has complained!

I had been making this pie for a few years before my sister dropped by while I was making one. She wanted to know how I could make a pie that good. Next thing I knew, she was dazzling other people with her apple pies. My first pie with this recipe was as good as the many that followed. Betty Crocker's cookbook said that I could make this pie, so I did! I came to this site because my old cookbook went to a Dallas newlywed. Thank goodness the original recipe is here!

My son is a food professional. He says there is no better apple pie than his mom's. Guess what? It's not mom's. It's Betty's. I got my first Betty Crocker cookbook when I was first married, and have worn them out. I'm on my third now, but I have packed it away and had to come to the internet for our favorite apple pie. Thanks Betty
