I made this cake for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day and he absolutely loved it. I made it with strawberry cake mix and strawberry frosting... which originally sounds like too much of a good thing but it was delicious! I then decorated it with conversation hearts. I was so proud of it!

I love finding this. My birthday is close to v-day, so my mom always made a heart shape cake. This is so simple and easy to do. Love it! |

THIS CAKE IS SO SIMPLE TO MAKE I ALREADY MADE IT MORE THAN FOUR TIMES. SO IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO BAKE DO NOT WORRY THIS IS SIMPLE SO I SUGGEST YOU TRY IT. THIS IS A WONDERFUL WAY TO SAY I LOVE YOU OR YOU ARE SPECIAL. PERSONALLY, MY HUSBAND LOVES MY CAKES BUT WHEN I MAKE HIM A CAKE IT MAKES ME FEEL SPECIAL FOR THE FACT THAT I MADE HIM THE CAKE AND HIM SPECIAL FOR THE FACT THAT HE IS THE ONE RECIEVING IT. This is a very very easy design for a cake. I made this cake for the first time whenI was 10 as a valentines day gift for my grandma. |

This was amazing. I bought Christmas gumdrops for the flower so that I only got the two colours I needed. It was my first time making gumdrop flowers and I was surprised how easy it was. It only took about five minutes! |

I have made this cake with other occasions other than Valentine's or birthdays and am very happy with the results! Most people get a kick out of specialty made cakes, etc. to correlate the theme and this is one that can be implemented for most any occassion. The decorations can be altered and made to 'fit' the occasion. I have even used this as a class project for Valentine's Day when I was teaching! The kids see geometric shapes forming another basic shape, they get to measure ingredients, read the directions and determine how to 'shape' the cake and then of course, DECORATE IT! :o) Easy recipe that can be altered according to anyone's standards. jwa |
