Comments: This is the only recipe I will use. Been making these for years, I have tried other, but the end result isn't as good. I always overfill the 1/2 c. peanut butter. This is the most consistently yummy cookie recipe! |

Comments: My mother would let me and my best friend make these very same cookies on rainy/snowy days when I was a kid (1960s). They are as good today as they were 45 years ago. My family scarf them down almost as fast as me. |

Comments: I'm quite new to baking cookies, but the cookies turned out fine. They were good, but the ones my nanny made when I was a child taste a little better, I love peanut butter, maybe next time I'll just add a little more peanut butter. |

Comments: I have my mother's Betty Crocker cookbook from 1961 and this is the same recipe that was published in that cookbook - to the letter! I grew up with these fantastic cookies and still make them today for my family.
That's 48 years without one single tweak...which just shows you that this recipe is tried and true. I believe that it's the combo of shortening and butter that makes these stand out against all the others. Trust me, this is the best old fashioned PB cookie out there. |

Comments: I lost my original Betty Crocker recipe for these cookies and have never found another recipe to compare...until now! I don't know if it has anything to do with the combination of butter and shortening? But these are by far my favorite pb cookie!! |

Comments: These were wonderful! I increased the peanut butter to 3/4c just b/c I love the pb taste. I actually had to hide these cookies from my husband b/c I made them for someone else and he kept eating them. GREAT RECIPE!!! |
