I accidentaly tried to bake this in the crockpot, it did not work. It was extremely mushy. I also used too much fat in the ground beef. Need to use very lean or ground turkey. I give it four spoons, because I think if I made it in the oven it would have been really good.

This is a wonderful recipe!! I did notice that some of the cooks complained of it being "soggy" so with this in mind I was very careful with the amount of liquid that I added to the mixture. I did not use but about 1/2 C. milk, maybe (I eyeballed it). The other major change that I made was that I did not use plain hamburger, I used a meat loaf blend which can be found right in the meat section with the ground beef. I was also very careful to drain the grease from the meat loaf once while it was cooking and then again immediatly after removing it from the oven. I used chili sauce instead of ketchup also for extra flavor. I have one child who typically does not like meat loaf...he cleaned his plate!!!

Great recipe!! Added a few changes on the topping that came out great, some brown sugar and ground mustard to taste!! Also used a half cup Italian breadcrumbs and a half cup quick oats instead of small pieces of bread!! Came out great

This is the best meatloaf I've ever had...ever. I cannot order meatloaf in a restaurant because it doesn't come close to this one. However, to make it the best way, instead of using ketchup as a topping, mix 1 T ketchup, 1 T packed brown sugar, and 1 tsp. yellow mustard and spread on top -- can't be beat!

HORRIBLE!!!!! I cooked it for 1 hour and the thermometer said it was 170 degrees in the middle of the meatloaf. I took it out and it was runny and greasy. Was not firm at all. Very MUSHY!!! I put back in the oven for another hour and it didnt do any good.

This is always my go-to recipe for meatloaf. I usually make a few changes, just based on personal taste. I omit the sage, and use half dry Italian bread crumbs and half oats for the bread crumbs. Also, for the topping, I mix ketchup, dry mustard and brown sugar (eyeball amounts per taste) together and spread over the top of the meatloaf during the last 15 minutes of baking. YUM!

Imade the recipe lastnight with venison &pork mixture. Added extra onion, used oatmeal in place of the bread crumbs, added one table spoon of Mrs. Dash Original seasoning, came out very tasty, a little bit on the dry side due to the venison&pork mixture. Next time I will cut back on the meat, and use mushroom soup, plus a little more Mrs. Dash.

I have been using variations of this recipe for years and all who eat it love it! Another way to kick-it-up-a-notch is to add some picante sauce to the meat mixture. Wonderful!

easy to make, but my family did not like it. It was very mushy and soft. Only could eat the top have because the bottom tasted to mushy. Would not make this again.

This was my first time making meatloaf and it turned out great! Not dry or anything which is one of the biggest complaints I hear about meatloaf. I did find it a little bland myself so next time I make it I will just add more of everything and hope that brings it some more flavor. However my husband and friends liked it a lot and my husband is a VERY picky eater.

WOW! This was only the second time I'd ever made meatloaf and it turned out perfect! It was so simple to make, was extremely moist and had great flavor. My boyfriend and I both loved it and went back for seconds. We even took it for lunch the next day. It's definitely a new favorite at our house!
