When it comes to spring baking, it’s all about fresh, vibrant berries, and Mother’s Day desserts are no exception. I find that mixing berries with tangy cream cheese is an irresistible combo, and one that always impresses.
Here I’ve marbled a cream cheese mixture into berry-studded pound cakes. The cakes are baked in mini-loaf pans making them the perfect size for gifting. Simple and easy-to-find baking and craft supplies make these mini cakes a really sweet homemade favor or present.
To package the cakes like I did, you’ll need a few supplies that can be found at your local craft store including small cellophane bags (any size that will accommodate your loaves), paper treat liners (found in the baking aisle of the crafts store), decorative tape, twine or ribbon and unprinted gift tags.
Simply place each cake in a paper liner, slip the cake and liner into a cellophane bag, and tape the opening shut. A handwritten tag reinforces the homemade feel of these cakes. Secure the gift tag to the bag with a twine or ribbon bow.
