Making Turkey Cupcakes with my own little turkeys. A fun way to spend an afternoon together and to get in the holiday spirit.

One of my favorite things to do in the kitchen is to bake with my kids. We make a mess, but we always have a good time.

Today it was rainy and cold outside, we had a clear schedule (which rarely happens these days), and we decided to make a treat together. We hopped on the computer, went to BettyCrocker.com and found this fun turkey cupcake recipe. We gathered our ingredients and got busy.

Bake a batch of cupcakes. Cool completely. Add frosting to a plastic bag or a piping bag fitted with a large round tip. Pipe the frosting around the cupcake, then mounding it to look like the head of the turkey.

Add white decorating icing to make eyes, press chocolate chips or brown decorator gel to make eye balls.

Add candy corn to the back of the turkey for feathers. Sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles at the base of the feathers. Add a candy corn for the beak.

They are very serious turkey makers. They take their cupcake decorating very seriously.
