French toast has always been one of my favorite weekend breakfasts since I was a little kid. My Dad always used to make his famous French toast on Saturday mornings with crisp bacon. It was a wonderful treat and a great way to start the weekend.
Unfortunately, my son doesn’t share the same enthusiasm for French toast. It’s crazy how he’s just unimpressed with a food that I love so much, but such is life. So to make ordinary French toast more appealing to him, I’ve found a fun little trick, coating it in his favorite cereal!
And this is his favorite new cereal, Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch. It has his favorite Honey Nut Cheerios mixed with sweet flakes and amazing crunchy little balls that are just plain irresistible.
To make this French toast, I start out with eggs, milk and cinnamon whisked together in a bowl.
Then I coat thickly sliced French bread (you could also use regular sandwich bread).
Then after it’s coated well in the egg mixture…
I place it in the bowl of lightly crushed cereal.
And I coat the bread well on each side; pressing the cereal on the toast to make sure it sticks on the bread well.
Then I just fry it up in a hot skillet until it’s golden brown on each side.
Serve with pancake syrup or honey and enjoy!
