Hot Flavors for Fall

There are all sorts of hot new trends for fall! We've pulled together a few quick and simple recipes that feature these great food combinations.

The time has come for the fresh flavors of summer gardens to give way to the warm foods of fall. Comfort meets zest with the spicy kick of chili meeting the cool sweetness of mango. Or toss sage with citrus for a truly incredible duo. Here are some of our favorite recipes using this year’s best flavor combinations.

Butternut Squash Ravioli with Orange-Prosciutto Oil

Cinnamon-Bacon Pancakes. Whip up a batch of your favorite Bisquick® pancake mix. Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon into the batter. Place a cooked bacon strip on a hot griddle. Pour a bit of batter over the bacon to create a long, skinny pancake. Cook until golden brown, flip and enjoy!

Sage and Citrus Tea Cakes. Prepare a Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® white cake mix according to package directions. Toss a bit of chopped fresh sage and orange zest into the batter. Bake as directed. Drizzle with melted vanilla icing.

Coconut and Pumpkin Pie Spiced Sugar Cookies. Make a Betty Crocker® Sugar Cookie mix as directed. Add a tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice. Bake. Frost cooled cookies with fluffy white icing flavored with 1/2 teaspoon coconut extract. Top with toasted coconut.

Honey Vanilla Chex®. Start your day off with a splash of flavor! Stir a few vanilla bean seeds into a cup of milk. Pour over Rice Chex® and top with a drizzle of honey.

Ginger Peach Shortcake. Prepare Bisquick® mix biscuit dough according to package directions. Toss 1 tablespoon ground ginger into the batter. Spoon batter onto a parchment-lined baking sheet; sprinkle with sugar. Bake until golden brown in a 425 degree oven. Serve with warmed peach pie filling and top with whipped cream.

Mint Citrus Mojitos. Add a splash of fresh-squeezed orange juice to ginger ale and top with chopped fresh mint.

Chocolate Gingerbread with Apricots. Mix a Betty Crocker® chocolate cake mix according to package directions, reducing the water by 3 tablespoons. Stir in 3 tablespoons molasses, 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon and 1 tablespoon ground ginger. Bake in a 9x13 pan as directed. Simmer 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water until sugar is dissolved. Pour over fresh apricot slices; stir. Top cooled gingerbread slices with apricots and a dollop of whipped cream.

Mango Chili Pasta Salad. Prepare a box of Suddenly Salad® Classic Pasta Salad. Toss in 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes, 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, 1 cup diced fresh mango and 1 cup grilled chicken strips.


Orange-prosciutto infused olive oil is tossed with butternut squash ravioli in this beautifully simple meal.
