Double-Duty Dinners

Created January 10, 2017
Plan for not one, but two (or even three) evenings' meals. These ‘planned-overs’ create new meals from a previous night's dinner and give you more time to spend doing what you love.

Time-Savers

Trim prep time using these quick tips:

  • Boil water with the lid on the pot.  Be sure the water is unsalted; it will boil faster.

  • Chop extra onions, celery and bell pepper, and refrigerate or freeze for ready-to-use veggies. Do the same when cooking pasta and rice.

  • Use convenience items such as sliced, shredded and cubed cheeses, pre-cooked bacon and meat; and packaged salads and vegetable mixtures.
