Deep Dish Taco Pizza

Have you noticed? People have an obsession with tacos. Muffin tin tacos, taco casserole, soft-shell tacos, hard-shell tacos, taco salad…the list goes on and on. Tacos are such a flavor-filled dinner idea that is easy to get on the table and are always a hit. So let me add another easy meal idea to the list. Taco Pizza. Deep-Dish Taco Pizza to be exact.

This was a favorite meal for my family when I was growing up. It was a regular in my mom’s meal rotation and it was always met with smiles and clean plates. The best thing about it, besides the ease in which it goes together, is the way you can customize it to fit your families tastes. Here is my family’s tried and true favorite.

First you want to brown some ground beef and add taco seasoning and water. Just like the package says. Set that aside for a minute. Next, open a can of Pillsbury biscuits. Press them around the sides of a greased pie plate and on the bottom, closing up all the seams.

Next, add your cooked taco meat right on top. Bake that at 400 degrees for about 10-12 minutes.

Carefully remove from oven and sprinkle with shredded cheese.

Bake for another 10 minutes and remove when cheese is bubbling and biscuits are browned.

Top with your favorite taco toppings! We like lettuce, green onions, tomato and black olives.
