With these quick tips and tricks, you can make your own baby food at home in just minutes!
Making homemade baby food couldn’t be simpler. A food processor or blender comes in super handy, but you could put a little muscle into it and do it old school as well.
Besides being simple, homemade means you can control what goes into the food and into your precious baby. Carrots are one of my kids’ favorite veggies. When they were little, they would eat them until they turned orange. Literally. They still love them. (Although today, they probabaly enjoy them with a little too much brown sugar and butter!)
To get started, peel the carrots and cut them into manageable chunks. You’ll be smashing them later so it doesn’t have to be the best cutting job you’ve ever done. Add them to a little water and cook them until tender. Then you’ll transfer them over and let the machine do the work. That’s it. I know...too easy, right?
As your child gets older and can tolerate herbs and seasonings, you can add salt, pepper and the like to make them taste much more palatable. Also as they get older, you can pulse them less and leave more texture. You can use this same process to make baby food peas.
