Fluffy light pastries with layers of vanilla cream are favorites at French bakeries. Now you can easily make them at home.
My mom is famous for taking difficult recipes and making them easy and delicious with some simple shortcuts. Much to everyone’s delight, she has been making these treats for years, so I thought I’d share them with you.
You start by slicing thawed puffed pastry into thirds and lightly piercing it with a fork before baking. You will also need to pierce the pastry again while it is cooking to prevent it from puffing up too much.
Once the cream and pastry are ready, you can begin to assemble the layers and add the sugar glaze.
Some melted chocolate and a toothpick can give you a beautiful marbleized finish.
Once they are sliced and plated, they are ready to serve. You can even make them a day ahead of time and keep them covered in the refrigerator.
Feel free to take as much time as you like to make them look perfect, but don’t stress about it too much. They taste great no matter how perfect they may or may not look!
After all, how can you resist light layers of pastry packed with vanilla cream and drizzled with a chocolate glaze? Enjoy!
