Nuts or Coconut, How to Toast
Sprinkle 1/2 cup nuts or coconut in ungreased heavy skillet. Cook over medium-low heat 6 to 14 minutes for coconut or 5 to 7 minutes for nuts, stirring frequently once until browning begins, then stirring constantly until golden brown. (Watch carefully; time varies greatly between gas and electric ranges.) Or bake in shallow pan in a 350° oven 5 to 7 minutes for coconut or about 10 minutes for nuts, stirring occasionally, until golden brown.
