Pasta, Fusilli (Corkscrew)

A long or short spring-shaped pasta from southern Italy. It is also known as eliche, or "propellers", for its quality for trapping particles of the sauce and propelling them between the palate and the tongue. Usually served with spicy tomato sauces. Fusilli lunghi are the long strands.
