I've been asked to bring brownies to a potluck. I want my brownies to be so good that I'll bring home an empty pan. Can anybody help??

Triple Fudge Brownies

Ingredients: 1 package (3.9 ounces) instant chocolate pudding mix 1 package (18-1/4 ounces) chocolate cake mix 2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

Directions: Prepare pudding according to package directions. Whisk in dry cake mix. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour into a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until the top springs back when lightly touched. Dust with confectioners' sugar. Serve with ice cream if desired. Yield: 4 dozen.

You have to check the temperature in your oven with a thermometer. The temperature may be higher than your setting it at. Also, if they're firm to the touch, take them out and put on top of the stove, they continue to cook on the inside from the heat.

I also use the 13x9 box of brownie mix, but I add some almonds, shredded coconut and chocolate chips to the mix before I bake them.  Very good and never have leftovers

I use a plain brownie mix and add a small package of chocolate chips - 1/2 in the mix, 1/2 sprinkled on top.  You can also use white chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, M&Ms, etc.  I always bring home a clean pan!!

I make brownies all the time and had so much problems with gooey middles -not cooked-bake it longer only to have burnt outer edges. One day when my normal pan was in use ,I grabbed one of the disposable aluminum pans-my brownies came out the best ever ! Been using those pans ever since and truly make really great brownies!

I also use a 13 x 9 insulated or sometimes called air bake pan. It is perfect for brownies, even the edges come out soft and chewy.

I have the absolute BEST brownie recipe EVER! I make them for all my friends when they are having crappy days and these brownies always put smiles on their faces!

What you need:

3/4 cup Hershey's Cocoa, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 2/3 cup butter or margarine, melted and divided, 1/2 cup boiling water, 2 cups sugar(white), 2 eggs, 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/4 tsp salt, 1 bag Hershey's Dark Chocolate Chips.

What to do:

  1. Heat oven to 350F. Grease 13X9X2-inch baking pan
  2. Stir together cocoa & baking soda in large bowl; stir in 1/3 cup butter. Add boiling water; stir until mixture thickens. Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining 1/3 cup butter; stir until smooth. Add flour, vanilla and salt; blend completely. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour into prepared pan.
  3. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.

ENJOY!!!! Big Smile

Add your favorite chopped candy bars to the batter, along with chopped pecans to the batter, saving some of each to put on the top of the batter after the batter has been spread in the pan. Yum!

Try buying a Pampered Chef square baking dish.  I have had one for years.  It is great!!!!

Yummy! I can't wait to try this with the Symphony bars!! Sounds great!

Those sound really good. Do you bake them any longer than the box instructions?

6/29/2008 11:55 AM

These have always been a hit

Bake brownies in a 13 x 9 pan according to box directions. I add some chocolate chips to make them moister. You can also add nuts.

Then melt one stick of butter or margarine with one package peanut butter chips and a can of sweetened condenced milk. Stir until smooth. Pour over cooled brownies. Then drizzle with melted chocolate and crushed nuts.

Cut small as they are very rich, but oh so good.

My family and I like thick but fudgy brownies. I have to make a 9X13 pan though or they are gone in 2 days. We like the thickness of an 8X8 pan, so I was wondering has anyone ever made 2 boxes of a 9X13 mix to make the 9X13 pan thicker?  If so, how much longer would I need to cook 2 packages of 9X13 mix in a 9X13 pan?  Thanks for the help!

well you should make them look yummy cause i alwase want to try things that look yummy and if i don't like it i just through it away so it's not i your pan any more

Hi, you sound like a wonderful cook..creative!  I, too, have added to my brownies, but the choc. chips don't do so well as your candy bars, I am sure.  I cannot wait to try this idea!  I use lots of nuts in mine and combined with the chips, neither seem to distribute evenly.  I just know your candy bar recipe is wonderful!   I KNOW that I will be doubling my recipe, too!   Thanks for sharing.
