need old recipe for apricot diamonds

My college boyfriend's mother (she lived in St.Louis) had a great recipe for apricot diamonds.  It had a shortbread-type crust with nuts in it, with some reserved to use as a topping over the apricot filling.  The filling was dried apricots cooked in water and sugar on the stove, then blended into a paste in the blender.  The bars took hours to make, so we didn't make them very often, but they were wonderful.  Unfortunately, over the years, I have lost both the recipe and the contact.  If anyone knows something like this, I would love to have it again!

Many thanks.

Re: need old recipe for apricot diamonds

Some one just asked for a Date bar cookie recipe.  It is in the Recipe and Magazine section.  I just wrote out the entire recipe yesterday.  Just substitute the apricots for the dates and I think you will have an awesome cookie.  As a matter of fact I think I may try it!
Good luck I hope it works out for you.

Could I please have this recipe. It sounds like what I am looking for. We use to get a date bar cookie in Oklahoma frome a bakery and I can't find it here so I wan't to try to make it.

Thanks, Teri
