Hello, my name is Kittyvamps and I haven't any formal trainning but I have been cooking sents my childhood. I started watching my grandmother cook from schretch and found that I just loved to get my hand in it.  I guess I would have to say that I'm a cook, cause I only really like to bake in the winter, when it's cold.

Betty Crocker has always been a name that I grew up with and trusted. I'm here to find new and some old recipes.

It's sure not my dream kitchen... small and not enough counter space.

My stove/oven that would have to be on the top of the list. lol

GeekedHello. Just got here today. Here are my answers to your list;  #1-I'm a good cook. Been cooking since childhood.A so-so baker, but enjoy doing it. Was a restaurant cook for about 20 yrs.  Every one likes and talks about my chili, & lasagna,& chicken caccitori (sp?).   #2- need to learn to revise my recipes; because of upcoming bariatric surgery.  #3- it's small, easy to use, and my favorite space.  #4- my stove is priceless.  #5- here goes.   I am a divorced woman,(& enjoying this!). Have one grown daughter. And now that I've made the decision to be healthier for the 2nd half of my life, I want to 'fix' my cooking style. Will Love all the help I can get. ThanksMommaJean350 over&out.

A group of us got together last night to watch the Syracuse basketball game.( we are sad) one of the lady's said she lost her recipe for a bunt cake that came from a starter. they do not have a computer, so I said I would look into finding the recipe for them. If anyone can help with the recipe I would be thankful. Skimrod. Thank you.

Well I am a great cook and love to try new ideas. I also love to can. There is nothing that taste better than fresh grown produce right out of garden. My family and friends love my pizza the most if I had to pick something. Oh and my baked beans.                                                                                                                                                                                                      Second, I love Betty Crockers cook book, the old one is the one I love and started with, when I first gotten married. Its the only one I turn to if I need help! I htought I would come to site to find out history about company. Then realized, why not make new friends who also enjoy cooking.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Well my kitchen is not my dream one, but I can still cook in it just fine!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        My life time pans! And my old cook book!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Well like I said I love to cook, I learned alot from my dad and grandmother. They taught  me to cook by my taste mostly, and thats how I do it. I have three children, two in college and one to start in a year. Less to cook for and a lot of time to go with what I want to do now! Scary but fun. I just have a problem to cook smaller portions, I am working on that!

I just found this message board when I went to the Betty Crocker website.

I had recently heard that Betty Crocker will be bringing out new Gluten Free products, I came in search of them.

do not see any info on this yet.  so wrote to them and then signed up for this message board.

I am celiac and allergic to wheat... so gluten free mixes will be a Godsend.

1. I love to cook everything! My parents were in the food business (restaurants, cafeteria) for 35 years so I grew up with awesome food and creative cooks. I was ordering frog legs at restaurants when I was 4!  My Mom and I collected cookbooks and between the two of us we have at least 400+. No more room for them now.

2. I joined the community to find more recipes and continue my "stash" of recipes. My husband just found out he was diabetic so I am on the lookout for healthy recipes for him.

3. Organized, "cozy", small, clean, wonderful.

4. My Cuisinart.

5. My hobbies are knitting, cooking, decorating and travel.

But this I only do about once a month now, forbeing we are gaining weight. I love to make cookies too. I have many cook books with old recipes in them and use them once in awhile. I love to make spaggetti sauces too.

(1) What kind of cook/baker are you? Do you have any specialties? If so, what are they?
I almost never cook the same thing twice, except for baking cakes which requires me to be methodical and exact. Bread is my specialty. I follow the DASH diet as long as it supports the Weston Price nutritional principles. I believe that whole milk, butter and bacon are totally OK in their proper proportions. The less processing involved the better the choice, thus I eat plenty of game, seasonal fruit and vegetables, and buy local.

(2) What brings you to the community?
My points points, plus I trust Betty Crocker brand.
