Hi I am a 73 year woman on a fixed income.  I receive a food box that has chicken breasts and it says to deep fry or cook in a convection oven.  I cannot have deep fried foods and do not have a convection oven.  Can someone help me on how to cook these in a conventional oven.  thank you very much.

rjputt,

Bone-in breasts at 350 degrees should take about 22-26 minutes, depending on size and thickness.

Boneless breasts at 350 degrees should take about 18-22 minutes, depending on size and thickness.

Hi Andi!  Welcome to the site,  I'm sure you'll find all kinds of recipes for you and your family.  I read your intro and let me just say I totally understand.  I've had some back surgeries as well, they helped alot.  Unfortunately I have some other issues that put me in a wheelchair.  I'm not that great a cook either, but I found out thru this site that I'm not as bad as I thought I was.  I don't have any specific recipes but I might be able to tell you where to look on this site.  First,  check out kitchen conversations.  You'll find all kinds of great recipes to suit your situation.  You might even run into a few of mine.( Easy is my kind of recipe!)  Also check out cooking and kids, that's a good one too.  Then there's also Emergency dinners or cooking on a budget.  They're not called that exactly but you get the jist.  Just surf this site and I'm sure you'll find some easy recipes.  Also, you can always ask betty crocker or ask the other members in kitchen conversations, bake life sweeter, etc..  I'm sure you'll find all kinds of help here and please let me know how you're doing!  Take care!

Just thought I’d jump in here and say HI.  My name is T’ce and I’m a classically trained Culinary Chef that just LOVES to bake.  I’ve always been of the opinion that a good Chef should be able to bake as well as they braise….

I am looking for a recipe for a Christmas Cookie that I use to make with my Grandmother way, way back in the 60’s.  I believe it came from the Betty Crocker Cookbook and they  were called something like Angel Kisses or Christmas Kisses.  They were made with dates and rolled into balls and then rolled in coconut.  I have very fond memories of these cookies and would love to make them for my Grandchildren.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Now I’m off to tell some friends about this site…

tcee56, maybe this one is similar. I don't know if this is a BC recipe or not, but it's a long time family favorite.

My Mom always made these at Christmastime and I still make them, too. My brother called them "cat-balls" because he said they looked like they came out of the cat's litter box. LOL We would all laugh and it would make Mom so mad. My brother is in his 60s now...and he still calls them cat-balls and looks forward to them every Christmas!

Be sure not to overcook or boil too long or mixture will harden.

Date Nut Balls

1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
2 cups dates chopped
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla
4 cups rice krispies
1 cup flaked coconut

In double boiler, melt butter, add sugar and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add dates and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir to help it cool for a minute. Stir in eggs, a little at a time. Return to double boiler and boil for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and pecans. Put the Rice Krispies in a large bowl. Pour date mixture over the Rice Krispies and mix gently.
Roll mixture into small balls. (Your hands will get sticky. Dipping your fingers in a little melted butter will help.) Roll balls in coconut.

Hello all,

I'm Barbara and I'm hoping someone can answer a question I have about Betty Crocker Fudge Brownie Mix.  The box states that it is Family Size, 13x9 pan.  I like thicker brownies and have used a 9x9 pan and they came out great.  Can I use a 13x9 pan and use TWO boxes of brownie mix to make a double batch?  Thanks.

Could someone tell me if Betty Crocker box tops or labels are still being accepted?

My school has several hundred.

Thank you.

Hello, my name is Joyce and I have a question. Can I use applesauce instead of oil for a cake to make it less fattening?

Hi Joyce!  Welcome to the site!  If I could make a suggestion only 'cause it sounds like you need an answer for tonite's dinner.  Look for site called 'Ask the Betty Crocker kitchens..."  It's (top right corner) by where you click to get to kitchen conversations, bake life sweeter, etc.. if you look down by the bottom, you'll find that section.  Click onto that and when you get your page, at the top left corner you'll see "start your own conversation..",  Click onto that and you can post your question there, this way you'll get a much quicker response.More than likely someone from BC will answer your question or one of the other members.  Someone like Alabama cooker, Atlanta Pat, Mittens, Or granna2 will probably be able to give you a quick answer so you can get your dinner planned quicker!  Good luck, and again welcome.  I'm sure you'll find this to be a great site with great people involved!  Also, I check the site quite often during the day and late into the evening, so if you need me , holler!Big Smile

jgerthe, yes, you can.

This was posted by MomLid:
Applesauce is an excellent substitution for oil in a cake mix.  You use the same amount as you would the oil.  It doesn't change the flavor, it makes it moist & is lower in fat.  I hope this helps.

Hi everyone! I'm Roxanne and I don't like to cook or clean up after cooking. Cooking usually makes me crabby and my children said that I shouldn't bake cookies, even on no burn cookies sheets the 1st batch never turns out. I like to make meals in the crockpot or meals that fit into one pan. Easy is the name of the game. My husband is a good cook and he doesn't mind cooking.
