Hi!  My name is Julie.  Is there a difference in measuring ingredients in glass or plastic measuring cups?  I used rice in my glass cup and was told that I would have more rice than I needed.

I have created & developed foods & techniques ever since I have been about 4 years old for myself and family & continue to do so today. Won't give away my real age ( what is 'age' anyway ? .. EXPERIENCE not just a number)  besides what LADY or GENT does anyway ?

I LOVE & have met many CELEB 'coz my ( sniff ) deceased parents owned & were part of major newspapers. Furthermore, I was a TEEN Reporter and got to meet & have met many since then. Some consider that 'lucky' I consider it as 'being right place @ right time.

What does this all have to do w/cooking, baking etc ? LOTS !  I have created party/s .. for family & friends!

Now that I am a pre~sr this means .. more & more of healthy eating/s to continue!

I am now the proud owner of a mini BettyCrocker Food Processor .. does anyone out there know if there was to be a 'free cookbook to go with this ~ as I did NOT receive one & would find THAT quite acceptable addition to my multi-cookbook collection & would sincerely appreciate learning of how & where to obtain such.

I CHAT on a semi~regular basis on .. rockandrollheaven.com .. and sometimes even share thought/s idea/s there about cooking, baking etc & cont. to cook, bake w/the music .. ck US out sometime there :)(: tiz FUN @ any 'age' !!!!

OK .. enuf about me .. YOUR TURN out there .. btw .. TY for including me in this ELITE BettyCrocker Membership!

Hi Everyone!

I just signed on to this site today, I'll go by the name "Mexinana", as I'm Mexican and a grandma. I was raised in the Pacific Northwest, where I raised my 4 children also, who are all grown-up now with kids of their own.  I relocated to the mid-West in 2001 and have been in Ohio/Indianapolis ever since.  There's so much more to see here and do in the mid-West that it really makes me realize how "young" the wild-wild West is!  There's much to love in both places!

Anyhooo, I'm a pretty good cook, I like to make main meal dishes.  Since I grew up with a mexican mom and a step-father who was a swede (in the Pacific NW) I know how to make more American dishes than traditional mexican ones, but mexican food is still probably my favorite food.  I could eat my homemade beef taco's 2 or 3 times a week, but being health conscience my waist won't allow it.  So, I've modified my beef taco's to chicken taco's with flour tortilla's instead of frying the corn ones, making them a little bit healthier.

I've never been much of a sweet tooth and it seems that a lot of "sweets" are baked, so while I'm a pretty good main dish cook, I'm a not-so-great baker of cakes, candies and such.  Oh, well, Mary Poppins I'm not!

I hope to join in the comaraderie here, share recipes and make new friends.

Thanks in advance Betty Crocker for providing this wonderful web-site!

Hello Everyone! I don't know why it's taken me so long to join your group, but I'm glad I finally did. Smile

My name is Faith and I live in Madisonville, KY (Originally from Philadelphia). I'm a stay-at-home caregiver to my wonderful husband, so that gives me lots of time to cook! I also love to garden, craft and I consider myself a coupon queen! Saving money, especially these days, is very important for us.

Thank you for having me here. I hope to meet lots of people and find great recipes. Smile

Hello everyone I have just joined tonight and I am loving this site already.  Lots of great recipes on here!  I love to cook but working full time can really cut me short in the kitchen.  My main purpose to join was to find new and quicker recipes for me and my family.  I get so tired making the same ole same ole.  On the weekends I have more time to bake and spend time in the kitchen.  So what I would really like is to find good tasting recipes I can fix up on the weekends that I can freeze then take out through-out the work week to make my life a little more easier.  I get so tired after coming home from a full days work and spend two more hours in the kitchen cooking and cleaning up.

Hi, I'm Dave Reid.  I and my wife of 32 years live in Green Valley, AZ, about a thirty minute drive to the MX-USA border.  I am a member of the Pima County Sheriff's Office,  I am 83 years old this coming September 5th.  Life is good here.

Re cooking, I'm afraid I go about it like I did in Chemistry many years ago in Washington State College, 1.  I have to clean everything as I go and before I begin I get out all the implements I am going to have to use plus ingredients.  You would think everything would come out perfect but that is seldom the case.

My main mission in joining is to have some help when I get stuck as I did the other day.  I found a terrific recipe for baked chicken in mushroom soup.  I was to set the oven at 375 and put the chicken breasts in for 30 minutes.  Meanwhile I had to cut up half a green bell pepper, half an onion, put the latter in a can of soup plus an equal amount of water.  Also, I put in half a small jar of sliced mushrooms.  I also had to saute the pepper, onions and put them into the soup.  After 30 minutes I took the chicken out of the oven and poured the soup and its contents over the chicken and put the chicken back into the oven for another 30 minutes.  IT WAS DELICIOUS AND FORK TENDER.  Now I have lost the recipe and can't find it to check if I have the correct temp and all the ingredients,

If any of you chefs have any ideas I would welcome them.

 Bon Appetif!!

I also collect cookbooks(I have over 700 at this point) and enjoy trying the recipes I find in them. I have already been able to help someone here with a lost recipe. I hope that I will be able to keep doing that while getting some new ones myself. Coffee Ilove coffee and am always looking for recipes that include it. You all have a wonderful evening.
