Spanish dishes

I am new to this. I have a new boyfriend that is full spanish from Mexico. When I cook meals for him, he says the food tastes sweet. I do not use any sugar or sweetner. I basically cook with chicken, or beef. Tomatoes, onions, peppers, cilantro and garlic. All fresh. sometimes I use tomato sauce or diced or stewed tomatos from the can, but rarely. I am limited to what I can cook for him, so I am looking for some different recipes too.

Here is a little help dont use to much tomatoes sauce if you do, add more peppers or a little spice. Althought it my not taste sweet at first but cooking things in tomatoes can become sweet. I love when I combine tomates with Chipotle peppers. Get some steak cook with light seasoning. cook to liking (rare, medium, etc.) plate with some rice and beans. Get a can of whole tomatoes cook then in with 2 cloves of garlic, once semi cooked put in blender and add 1 chipotle pepper, pinch of salt and black pepper. Blend together till all is mixed well. Place 2 spoon  full of the sauce on top of steak and a little of dice cilatro to add more texture. it might be a hit or miss but i believe it will be a hit!!! sincerely sofia
