Brown Sugar Cookies

Does anyone have a recipe for Brown Sugar Cookies? An aunt of mine had this recipe in a cookbook back in the 70's. When she passed away, my cousin inherited the book and refuses to share! I would really appreciate any help!

Brown Sugar Cookies

This is not a BC recipe, but it's very good.

Brown Sugar Cookies
1 3/4 sticks butter
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups brown sugar, divided
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp vanilla extract
2 cups plus 2 tbsp flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Heat butter in a pan until melted. Continue to cook 1 to 2 minutes until it is browned, being careful not to scorch or burn it. Transfer to a mixing bowl and allow to completely cool.  Combine sugar and 1/4 cup brown sugar in a shallow bowl; set aside.
Add remaining brown sugar, egg, egg yolk and vanilla to cooled butter, mixing until smooth. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt then add to butter mixture, stirring just until well combined.
Roll dough into 1 1/2 inch balls, then roll balls into sugar/brown sugar mixture. Place balls 2 inches apart on lightly sprayed baking sheets and bake, one pan at a time, at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes, until puffy and lightly browned with soft centers. Be careful not to overbake!
