Hamburger Helper Rice Oriental

I have been surfing the web to find sources of the Rice Oriental flavor of Hamburger Helper, only to find it is discontinued.  The amount of other people I came across in my search who are as chagrined as I am about its loss is noteworthy, and I wanted to make TPTB aware of how greatly it is missed by many.  It is actually a meal I would make if my stomach was upset, as something about it had a soothing effect on my system (medicinal argument?).  Pleeeeze bring it back!

I agree. I remember it being my favorite growing up as well. i have tried to make it on my own with the brown gravy mix, but it's not the same. Please bring it back. Until reading this, i didn't realize it had been discontinued. There was one store i was able to find it, but not anymore. As my Birthday request, please bring it back....

I have a recipe to make a dish that tastes the same but I found the rice oriental to be more convienient

I too wish they would bring it back.

 I was appalled when I learned that Hamburger Helper Rice Oriental was discontinued! Surprise

That flavor was my favorite! Please please please bring it back.

I was wondering if you could please share with me the recipe that you have for the rice oriental because my husband has Crohn's disease and that meal made his stomach feel better when it was upset.  I really wish they would bring back rice oriental.

I would really appreciate it if I could get that recipe.  The rice oriental Hamburger Helper was my favorite!  I have been stopping at various stores trying to find it and didn't realize that it had been discontinued until I got on this website.  What a huge disappointment!  I have really been craving it the last few months!

Cool  My husband and I both agree with you.  We was purchasing in bulk from General Mills, when we could no longer buy in the local stores,  and they discontinued selling.  I like you have continued to surf the net and am VERY disappointed this product is no longer available to purchase.  This was an EXCELLENT flavor of Hamburger Helper.  Matter of fact the only one I have purchased and enjoyed.  I want it back now.    PLEEEEZZZZEEE bring it back, Betty Crocker.

Unfortunately, due to lack of sales, this product was discontinued and is no longer available.

We regret any inconvenience this caused and hope you continue to enjoy the many other products we offer.

i was surprised Surprise to find out it had been discontinued too.  i just figured is was not available Automobile where I was.  i also know friends Person who have been searching for this flavor of hamburger helper.  I would love to have this back as much as any of us.  Please bring it back.  I mean if so many people Whisper are searching for it online Computer and now posting Email to betty crocker and tptb you have to know there is a market Geeked for it.

Yes, yes absolutely could not agree more. What is it, the name? The price of rice? What could possibly have led you to make this extraordinarily bad business decision?

Seriously, in the name of all that is Holy, bring this product back. If you do, it may actually restore my and nearly everyone else's faith in your company...

Could you please e-mail your recipe of Rice Oriental.  I have tried myself to duplicate it.  It's close but not quite.

This was the only one my family enjoyed.  My children requested this for their birthday dinners.  HELP

I found this one: 

1-1 1/2       lb   lean ground beef
1     medium onion (Diced)
1     clove garlic (Minced)
1     envelope onion soup mix
1     cup raw rice
2     tablespoons soy sauce
1 (4     ounce) can sliced mushrooms
2     cups water


  1. Cook Lean Ground Beef drain if needed.
   2. Add Chopped Onion and Minced Garlic and Onion Soup Mix,Rice,Water with Soy Sauce.
   3. Cook for 20mins or till the rice is done and water gone.
   4. Add Mushrooms heat though.

We totally agree with Varilux-why did you make the BAD  decision to do away with the Rice Oreintal flavor of Hamburger Helper ?!!! So many people I have talked to say it was their favorite, not to mention ours!!!!! Please consider bringing back Rice Orential!  You will make thousands of YOUR customers very happy.
