Today we celebrated Kristen's birthday. She's an assistant food editor in the Kitchens. Since she and her boyfriend keep bees (I think "keep" is the right word; "raise" sounds wrong) Andi had Kathy, a Betty Crocker Kitchens Technician, make a Chocolate Honey-Dome Cake with Chocolate-Honey Glaze to celebrate. You can find the recipe here. Kristin was surprised (her birthday is actually next week) and we all got the opportunity to indulge in a little chocolate. Definitely a win-win situation....

I had a great birthday. Thanks for asking. Apart from the whole getting older thing, it was really fun. You know how when you become an adult your birthday feels like just another day? That was not the case for me on Monday thanks to all my friends who stepped in to make the day special.

My friend Audrey and I have been taking French classes for more years than I care to admit, since we still can't speak French. One class tradition is that we celebrate our birthdays with a sweet treat. This can be challenging because we meet right after work on Wednesday nights. Anything that I bring to class has to sit in the trunk of my car all day or I have to haul it into my office.
