No wonder Jill's recipes are so easy. She once owned a business that specialized in teaching kids to cook & bake.
Food tastes better if you make it yourself. And that's especially true for kids.

Bakers: Avoid Baked Good Overload
by jillbcooks 5/5/2009 8:53:00 AM

A concerned mom posed a great question on the Betty Crocker message board last week.  Her daughter is an avid baker who aspires to be a professional chef when she grows up.  The trouble is that the would-be chef enjoys making treats like cookies and brownies as hands-on learning, and perhaps enjoys too many sweets, according to mom. As a cookbook author and recipe developer, I can definitely relate.  Often it takes me a few tries to pe...

Annual Bake Sale
by Heidi at Betty Crocker 2/11/2009 2:45:00 PM

We held our annual Bake Sale today. I think almost everyone in my department contributed some sort of goodie. From banana bread and scones, to cupcakes and heart-shaped cookies, there was something for everyone. All the proceeds from the sale go to Second Harvest Heartland. by Heidi at Betty Crocker 2/29/2008 3:21:00 PM

So Renee, our very kind administrative assistant who organized Wednesday's Bake Sale, released the final results from the event. According to Second Harvest's website, every dollar donated allows them to distribute $9 worth of food. With the match from General Mills, that comes out to $18,00...

When I offer to make something for a bake sale, I always want to bring something that is unforgettable, or at least so delicious that folks will ask for my recipe. With that in mind, I thought long and hard about what to bring to our fundraiser bake sale Heidi told you about yesterday.   I came across a recipe for Gingered Lemon Scones with a lemon curd filling, which sounded wonderfu...

Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is
by Heidi at Betty Crocker 2/27/2008 4:09:00 PM

We had a Bake Sale today at work with all the proceeds benefiting Second Harvest Heartland, a hunger-relief organization. This is the fifth year we've hosted the sale. The first year we made about $90. This year is looks like we're going to top $800. As is the case every year, General Mills matche...
