Birthday Recap
by Heidi at Betty Crocker  10/22/2008 6:22:00 PM

I had a great birthday. Thanks for asking. Apart from the whole getting older thing, it was really fun. You know how when you become an adult your birthday feels like just another day? That was not the case for me on Monday thanks to all my friends who stepped in to make the day special.

I started with my favorite bacon in the morning (Andi bought me a pound as a birthday gift). Then I met some friends at a neighborhood strip mall where we indulged our inner princesses with a pedicure, followed by lunch at almost-next-door pizza place Punch. We actually wore our little throwaway flip-flops to the restaurant so our toes had ample drying time. After lunch we headed back to the nail place for a manicure. As if we weren’t already in heaven, we then did a little shopping. Exhausted from all the fun, I took a nap and then met a bunch of my friends at Axel’s Bonfire where we enjoyed each others company as well as a huge plate of nachos and several cocktails. The restaurant brought out a tiny cake with a candle to commemorate the occasion.

All in all, a very good day.

Oh—I forgot to mention. The night before AC helped me make my favorite cake: Orange Chocolate Chunk. I’ll post photos tomorrow.
