No wonder Jill's recipes are so easy. She once owned a business that specialized in teaching kids to cook & bake.
Food tastes better if you make it yourself. And that's especially true for kids.

Looking Forward to Waffles
by jillbcooks  7/31/2009 8:19:00 AM

I used to work at a large organization that had something called “Paychecks and Doughnuts” every other Friday.  The event brought people from all different departments together in a large room where coffee, doughnuts, and direct deposit slips or live pay checks were available.  In the middle of the room was a long, long, long conference table, literally covered with doughnuts—the most I had ever seen in one place.  People really looked forward to “Paychecks and Doughnuts," I think, because it simply offered something fun and sweet to look forward to, which I think we all need.

One of my favorite blogs is called Pictures of Cake, which logs the cake baking adventures of the blog’s author.  She often writes about hre regular Cake Thursdays, when she brings a cake into work to share with her co-workers.  Could you imagine looking forward to Cake Thursdays?

I am trying to get into the habit of making waffles every Sunday.  So far I have made malted waffles, chocolate waffles and banana nut waffles. I like having something to look forward to.  This week I am looking forward to Belgian Waffles.

What do you look forward to?  What little food rituals make your life taste better?
