Couponing It for Charity

I did my weekly grocery shopping at a store where I don’t usually shop this week because their sales were unbeatable when coupled with double coupons on Wednesdays. My total came to $95.99 after a savings of $59.46. I bought many of the pantry staples I know I’ll need for the holidays like chicken broth, butter and soda. I also bought several Pillsbury Quick Bread mixes, brownie mixes, cake mixes, frostings and cookie pouches. I know that these come in handy when impromptu entertaining during the holiday season. A few weeks ago, I happened to get two coupon inserts in my Sunday paper. If you are a couponer, you know the joys of this happy accident. So, it happened that I had several coupons for these products. I deliberately used them up with the idea of donating these foods to a food drive in my neighborhood. It took just a little time and just a little effort, but it made me feel very good to donate two bags of amazing grocery deals.
