Apple Pie on the Grill

We had the grill going just about all day yesterday. I figured that I would try baking the pie on the grill (note: I used a metal pie plate...I personally wouldn't put glass on the grill). When the lid of a grill is closed, it is basically a large oven. I noticed our grill was at about 375 degrees (there is a thermostat on it) and we were waiting for the coals to come down in temperature to smoke some brisket. I figured in the meantime, I would put the hot coals to use. The pie came out great, and we even wrapped a few pieces in foil and threw them back on the grill to warm when we were ready for them.

Getting pie ready to reheat on the grill.

The forgotten brats and dogs--everyone went for the brisket instead. Yeah, that's my pie on the top right.
What have you made on a grill? How have you kicked off summer?
